Glory in God’s Glory – Our true calling and motive
It not our wisdom, might, or riches that we are to glory in, or that is to take pride in. But we are to take great glory, or joy in knowing the Lord, the one that exercises lovingkindess, judgment, and righteousness.
Today, all around people identify with and strive for things . . . a job, a house, a position in life, a name. What would happen if our focus and attention were paid to gaining and growing in the condifdence and strength of the Lord? I mean, what would happen if our energies, affections, time and pursuits were toward Him, instead of the next big thing that mankind strives for.
His Presence
Further, what would it take to cause men and women to hunger for His presence? The presence of God that brings His lovingkindness and healing grace on mankind? We’re not to glory in earthly things, but glory in God’s glory. Can this be our motive, our delight, our purpose? I believe it can be, it should be, and eventually will be . . .
In Your Glory Peace and Presence
Today Lord, I will glory in your glory, peace, presence, and joy. This is my purpose today . . .not mine, but thine!
The Father Hears our Prayers
Jesus was Lazarus’ tomb and was getting ready to raise him from the dead. But before the word came to raise him up . . .Jesus said . . .
“Father, I thank You that You have heard Me – John 11:42
So here have an amazing principle. Before Jesus actually prayed for the need, He worshipped His Father with thanksgiving, thanking Him that the Father had heard Him.
