Men of God – A Shelter and Refuge
Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice. A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest, as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. Is. 32:1-2
There is a time coming in the near future where a King will reign and men will be a hiding place form the wind and storm. But that day is not hear yet . . . or it is?
Jesus is Lord
A King does reign today . . . his name is Jesus! He is King and Lord and He does reign in righteousness. Yes, there will be a visible return one day where this King will reign physically over the earth. Until then, He does reign over His people, the church, as in those places that we invite Him and we pray “thy kingdom come”!
A man will be a hiding place
As Jesus is Lord, we are told that men will be a hiding place and a shelter. So, instead of men living in fear, timidity, and acting like children, men will be a source of strength, security, and faith. You see, men of God are to be a place where families and friends can go to for rest, encouragement and a shelter from the storm. Men of God are to be approchable to find healing, answers, peace and strength. That is men of God!
Time to make Jesus Lord
When Jesus is Lord over men’s lives, there is a transformation that takes place. Men need to grow up from being children. Men need to be healed from the scars of the past. Men need to be delivered from the demonic infestation that has twisted our lives. Men need to grow up into their position of faith, boldness, calling and purpose. Men simply need to make Jesus Lord. Is Jesus is our Lord . . . then we’ll grow up into men of God that can be a shelter, refuge, and a source of rest for those around us.
Healed of Rejection and Shame – because He’s with Me.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “ The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5-6
What a promise! To know that the Lord Jesus will never leave me, nor forsake me. Relationships can be broken so easy these days. Mistrust, hidden agendas, past hurts and hang-ups and other things scar and jepordize relationships that end up having people forsake us and yes, if we are honest we have forsaken others. But we can take great comfort, rest and trust in that the Lord will not leave or forsake.
Healed of rejection
This promise is the answer for rejection and shame. To know that the Lord is always accepting, loving, correcting, teaching, brings a confidence that regardless of where we’re at we know that He’ll be there. If we receive this truth, great healing and acceptance fills our spirit and souls to the point that regardless of what others do, we know He’ll be there.
The Lord is my helper
As a result of Him being here with us, we can boldly say, the Lord is my helper! I will not fear . . . ! The way we tell if we are healed of rejection and shame is the response that comes out of us in the times of external fears and challenges to rejection. Do we/I respond with this bold confession? We should . . . We should be able to say, I will not fear . . . what can man do to me?
Lord I make this confession today . . . that Your my/our helper. You never leave me nor forsake me. You’re always with me. And I bodly confess that I will not fear . . . what can other do to us/me today? They may try to reject, hurt or harm but in the end You’re always there next to me, with me, in me and casuing me to be victorious . . thank you!
The Exploits of Faith – Bringing Heaven on Earth
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them,[c] embraced them and confessed – Hebrews 11:13
Hebrews chapter 11, we know it well, read it many times, and have heard of the heros of faith from times past and the exploits they lived trusting in God. Yes, as one reads through Hebrews 11, we can list off all the names and study all the examples of faith. What amazing testimonies! What victories! These are timeless lessons for us to learn and live also as we today seek to live exploits of faith as well.
By faith -
Those listed in the Hebrews 11 did what they did – “by faith”. Verse 13 above shows more insight by noting several key principles as to how faith was lived out.
- Received – they knowingly received what was told them to believe
- Seen – they could see something else beyond the human eye . . .w ith the eye of faith
- Embrace – that is to grab and hold onto.
- Confessed – this was their proclamation, what they believed and held onto
Today let us live and walk in the same principles. Let us receive, see, embrace and confess God’s promises to the end that we too can live by faith.
