Know the Lord & His Work – and Keep the Doors Closed!

Believers in Christ Jesus need to stay true to our covenant relationship.  But, if we sell ourselves out to sin there could come a time when we too cannot stand before the power of sin.

Another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel.  They could no longer stand before their enemies – Judges 2:10,14

Israel experienced a powerful and glorious deliverance out of Egpyt.  There saw the power and display of God’s grace, mercy, and judgments on this earth.  God was trying to get them to enter His covenent promise, His plan for taking the Promised Land, His purpose for establishing His dominion on the earth.  Did they not realize what His intentions were?  Did they miss His covenant love?

Knowing the Lord and His work

But the day came, ever so subtly, when Israel did not know the Lord nor His work.  and the result was they could no longer stand before their enemies.  They ran with the wrong crowd.  They got involved with some things that did not please the Lord, and as a result . . . well, it got them into trouble.

We need to know the Lord and His work.  We need to remember what Jesus’ purpose and plan is on this earth.  There are priorities that we need to adhere to with regards to His Kingdom.  If we forget Him, we’ll eventually forget His work . . . and if we continue . . . we’ll eventually be open to submission to the enemies plans.

God’s work?  It’s simple

Jesus said to pray for His kingdom to come.  Jesus said to love the Lord, and love other people.  If we loose these priorities . . . well then we can get shipwrecked in our faith and well . . .

Today Lord I thank you for the simplicity of the gospel.  I thank you for the kindness and purity of your love.  I thank You for the opportunity to serve and be blessed by You.  Let this day be a blessing to You and I receive from You your grace.  Today, I walk with You and see your work.  And as a result, the enemies of your kingdom have place in my life.

Don’t Neglect Your Inheritance in Christ – Time to Walk About Again

God has given already a prophetic inheritance to each believer.  It’s ours, we need to rise, take dominion and walk into it by His grace and authority.

How long will you neglect to go and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers has given you? – vs 3  You  shall therefore survey the land – vs 6  So the men went, passed through the land, and wrote the survey in a book  – Josh 18:9

Many years had gone by and there was still land available and already assisgned to the God’s people.  But, as is the case quite often, all that God has available is not expereinced, received and inherited.  Israel was called to go posses the land.  And Joshua told them again, to survey the land and they wrote the results in a book . . .

What has God given to each of us?  What is our inheritance in God.  Paul even prayed that we would know our inheritance in Chirst  – Eph. 1:18.  We have much land before us.  We have many promises awaiting the claiming and walking into.  There are a variety of ressons that we as Christian don’t walk into our full inheritance.  Could it be sin, unbelief, doubt, or fear?  What’s holding you or me back from the abundance, authority, ministry, healing that God has called us to walk in?

You need a book

Today Lord I need a book.  I need to write down what you’ve given to me.   But better yet, You wrote the book already – the bible. . . I just need to read and act upon what you’ve already given to me.

Today, thank you for the strength to continue on and believe you for great things.

Give Me This Mountain – An Example of Taking Your Inheritance in Christ

God has called for His people to walk in dominion.  We are called to take land, to rise higher in God, and to not fear the enemy of our soul.  We are to take mountains.

Surely the land where your foot has trodden shall be your inheritance and your children’s forever, because you have wholly followed the LORD my God . . .    Now therefore, give me this mountain   – Josh 14:9,12

Joshua and Caleb walked on this mountain before.  Some 40 years ago they were at the same place, both physically and in thieir heart.   They walked this land and knew they would one day own the land based on the promise of God.  But little did they know it would be a whole 40 years latter.

Israel’s sin delayed 40 years – yet God was faithful

The 10 other spies brought back a report of unbelief and thus delayed God’s promise by some 40 years.  Yet Joshua and Caleb held fast to the promise for a long time and one day it came to manifestation.

Many times in our lives we have a promise, and we waver, question, and are challenged as to the fulfillment of the promise coming about.  But notice Caleb here. . . .he knew where he was going to live one day. . . on that mountain.  So we too need to continue to hold onto what has been promised us in Christ to the end that we show ourself faithful and God will fulfill what He’s promised us.

So today Lord, I want to walk around the land that you have given me and my family.  I will pray and believe and speak boldly around that which is mine/ours based upon you promise.  And I praise you this day for your faithfulness to fulfill what you’ve spoken.  In Jesus’ name

Pointing the Javelin – Prophetic Intercession to Take a City

Christians believers need to “point” at that which they are taking dominion over.  This is a form of prophetic intercession and posturing.  This is more than a general prayer or hopeful aiming.  This is strategic prayer.

Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Hold out toward Ai the javelin that is in your hand, for into your hand I will deliver the city.”  – Joshua 8:18

Israel was to take Ai.  They failed once.  There were not going to fail the second time.  After the sin in the camp was dealt with Joshua rallied the troops and then pointed the javelin.  This speaks of:

The Sword of the Lord – God’s word spoken in prayer

In our daily walk of dominion and victory, there are times when we too need to point the sword of the Lord at that which we are going to overcome.  The sword of the Lord, the word of God, is the bold prophetic proclamation of what this go is doing and will finish.  We point at satanic strongholds, sickness, poverty, witchcraft, and all sorts of demonic activity that seeks to hinder God’s kingdom.

Advancing the Kingdom Today

Today Lord, where do you want me to point the javelin?  Where does your word need to be directed in prophetic proclamation?  What stronghold do I attack today to continue the advancement of Your Kingdom?  As you lead and guide, today I also arm myself with you sword or javelin to complete and move into what you’ve called and family into . . . In Jesus’ name.
