I Will Meet With You – The Place of Prayer

The Lord desires fellowship with us.  He specified a meeting place for us and initiated a inviatation for mankind to fellowship with the Lord, as well as to hear from Him.

There, above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the Testimony, I will meet with you and give you all my commands for the Israelites. – Ex. 25:22

There I will meet with you. . . .not over there, or over there. . . . but here, at this place I will meet with you.  God invites us, and sets the place where we are to meet.  It was prepared with great skill and expenses for Israel in the wilderness tabernacle.  Moses here took an offering, hired the builders, and built the meeting place as “per the design of the Lord”.

We know going thru the rest of scripture that the tabernacle was a type of Christ and that when Jesus died the veil to the holy place, which was symbolic of His flesh (Hb.10:20).  was split in two so that we now have access into the His presence, freely, and at any time.  Not just Moses, but all of us have the same access to listen, learn and fellowship with a living, loving, almighty God.  Thus the invitation for today is to:

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. – Heb. 4:16

Father God, today I come boldly into your presence, to receive mercy and grace.  You know my/our challenges and I praise you this day for listening and acting in our behalf.  I thank you for your Holy Spirit to fill, teach, overflow and direct our affairs this day.  You’ve invited me in today, I come, and thank you for times of fellowship and grace.

Gaining the Victory – Little by Little

How Lord will at times allow us to gain victory upon victory, little by little, as we gain strength to take possession of His inheritance.

I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.  Ex. 23:28-30

God did not drive out the “ites” all at once.  This would have left a void in the land and allowed the other enemies, the animals to take over.  Spiritually speaking there are times when we need a “managed” possession of territory.  So, that as we gain the victories and strength other enemies do not arise and take over what was dispossessed.

For example, territorial strongholds, personal strongholds, and church-wide strongholds all have an application to this principle.  Individually, the Lord sets us free through deliverand and salvation, but then Christ said that we need to fill up the empty space or else a void would occur and the enemy come back (Matt. 12).  He also spoke of this priniciple with regards to a generation.

“And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” – Matt. 12:45

The principle here is that an individual, or a people group within a generation, can allow access to the enemy and demonic spirits if the teritory, our soul, and the belief systems of a generation are not filled-up and mastery is to accomplished.  Therefore, the goal is to little by little fill our lives with His victories.  Little by little . . . and as we do there is a resistance naturally being built to resist the demonic kingdom from coming back to reinforce itself.

A Time To Stand and a Time To Fight

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”  Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on – Ex. 14:14-15

Israel was fleeing from Egypt and Pharoah.  They came to the bank of the Red Sea and Moses gave the instruction to be still.  Now this is biblical in the sense that Psalm 46 says the same thing . . . be still and know that I’m God.  But, all to often, for a variety of reasons many believers apply this verse at the wrong time.  There are definately times to be still, and there are times to take another course of action.  And this was one of those cases.

Tell Israel to move one

This was the command from the Lord . . . and this is the directive to many believers today.  Instead of standing still “passively” waiting for the Lord to something in their lives, there are move toward something.  Jesus had the 10 lepers move.  He had blind Bartemaous move.  The man at the pool was to move.  Peter was to move and cast the fish nets over the side again.  On and on there are many verse that speak of moving out . . .

Father today, I thank you for directing my steps.  There are some things that I need to wait and trust.  And there are some things that I need to move on . . .   Thank you for speaking, leading, and guiding.  Thank you for teaching me when to attack, act in faith, step out, and when to rest.  Quicken my spirit today to your will and purpose for this day and my family.  Amen

Spoiling the Enemy Of Their Gold!

Tell the people that men and women alike are to ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold – Ex. 11:2

The plagues that destroyed Egypt weakened their dispostion to the point that when Israel asked for the money it was freely given.  When the pressue gets so intense on the enemies of God, we can command them to give up their most precious posessions and their gladly give it away.  So, could it be that in the latter days that things get rough for the people of the earth, and as with Israel in Egypt, God makes a distinction between His people and unbelievers.  And in the midst of theri pain, money is transferred over freely.

There is a great transfer taking place in the economic atmosphere.  As believers, we need to be looking for it and expecting it.  But, as believers we also need to realize that things get worse and tighter in the economic and social realms by God’s judgments before things get better at times.

Lord this day I thank you for our deliverance, keeping us as Your ownly people, and setting the stage for prospering us in the days of recessions.  Thank you for Joe’s business, Carols, efforts and us and our family living in your blessings this day. . . Amen!
