His Word – Heals and Delivers

Is 63,64, Ps. 107, John 2

“He sent His word and healed them and delivered them from their destructions” Ps. 107:20.

In the past this verse has been quoted quite often in the context of healing. But note, it says He healed and delivered them . . .

Israel, like us today, got into trouble by forsaking the Lord, His ways, commands, and covenant blessings. And, eventually they call out to God . . . and as is our merciful Lord, He responds by healing and delivering. But note that the means, method, and delivery process of God’s healing and deliverance is His word. He sends His word. Just like in the begining in Genesis, it wa God’s word that combinded with the Holy Spirit to bring about creation.

Today Lord, I thank you for your word. It is my life, my strength, my confidence and boldness. Your word is my assurance, my faith, my rock upon which I stand and trust. I thank you for fulfilling your word to me and my family today. Thank you for the faithfullness you show to me in healing and delivering me from the challenges I face. Today, I trust, proclaim, sing, and thank you for your word . . . to heal and deliver. Amen. . .

God’ Ministry of Revial

“I dwell in the high and holy place, wit him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of he contrite ones” (Is. 57:15).

The Lord, through the prophet Isaiah is drawing a line in the sand. He boldly directs His position to Israel of their idolatry and in the same breath shows His grace to those that are true and live for Him. Notice that God’s desire is to revive. Revive the spirit and heat of the humble and contrite ones. God desires to restore, encourage, lift up and heal, but notice also, that this reviving is for those that come to him into the holy place with a contrite and humble spirit.

This is the prerequisite to healing and reviving. A humble and contrite spirit. We’re told elsewhere in the Word that God knows the proud afar off. . . Thus in order to position ourselves for His reviving we need to come with a humble and contrite spirit. This allows us to place oursleves into His hands of grace for reviving, healing, restoration and grace.

Lord, it’s my desire to come with humble and cotrite spirit into your presence to today. It’s in this place that I can receive of your reviving into my heart and spirit. I ask this day for your continued reviving, encouragement and lifting up so that I can have the strength and perseverance to do your will. Amen.
